Background
Peter was born on 14 September 1894 the son of Jessie Robertson, (Servant) at Knappoch, (near Nuide) Kingussie.
The 1901 Census lists Peter aged 6 as living at High Street, Kingussie with his mother age 34 (housekeeper) and his brother John age 10.
In the 1911 Census he was described as working as a telegraph messenger and living at Campbell’s Buildings, High Street, Kingussie.
War Record
Peter travelled to France on 19 February 1915 and was Killed in Action on 18 May 1915 at Festubert and Commemorated at Le Touret Memorial. His body was never recovered.
He is also remembered on the Kingussie and Insh Memorial in Kingussie Parish Church, the Kingussie War Memorial, the St Andrew’s United Free Church memorial plaque now in Kingussie Parish Church and the Ring of Remembrance, Notre Dame de Lorette
